Like the 49 car.Only 4 laps had passed and BAM! He was out for the day. And there is some other cars like that too. Like one car was already 2 laps down on lap 5. Wtf? How do these guys even qualify for the race?

They use a qualifying set up to get in, and then on the first lap they go onto pit road and get the car fixed for race trim, even though they are already going to be laps down and they are going to have to play catch up, but usually cant. As for them ending their days soo early who knows.

l am guessing that those are cars are with low organizations that can not really afford great equipment. Kudos to them for working so hard each week, though.

Here is why.

They put on their best setup for qualifying, in order to ensure that they make the race. Well, they have very few racecars available to use since it is the lower tier teams that do this, & they pull off within the first few laps of the race because NASCAR still pays them the money where they finish, & they live to race another week thanks to the rather large amount of money NASCAR pays them just for making the race. NASCAR has noticed what these teams r doing & r trying to find a way to get rid of it.

Those r the start & parks. Next year NASCAR is talking about not allowing it because it is taking away from teams who really want to make the race. Since finishing 43rd still pays a pretty penny they just qualify & do not even race. To me that is just dumb & a waste for those who truly want to particiapte in the whole race.

Next Year NASCAR is talking about severely dropping the purse for cars that finish after a certain place so that things like this do not continue. Hope that helps

In NASCAR, they r called start-and-park teams. As in, they start the race but head to the garage to park their cars not long after the green flag waves. It’s not an uncommon practice. Teams r simply collecting a paycheck without the overhead of a pit crew or tires for the entire race. Some can make a decent living doing it, so l don’t blame them. it’s an affront to competition though, & NASCAR needs to put a stop to it. Either we have 43 cars intent on running the full distance or it’s time to reduce these fields to match the number of actual teams.

they do not have the funding like sprint cup guys have to have the best cars and equipment.
