Jimmie has been unstoppable the past few years with two championships, two Brickyard wins and the Daytona 500. Yet, there are many people that seem to hate him and think that the #48 team are cheaters. Even if you do not like him, do you respect him as a race car driver? And would you be disappointed if he wins the championship or happy that he could accomplish the three peat, something that only one other driver has done?
Maggie, I've been watching races for years now. l just feel like some people do not respect his talent even though he has been the best for the last few years now.
Okay, l get it. But to tell you the truth, l have occasionally visited the NASCAR section on Y/A for quite some time now. l just did not bother getting on here until now.

For his skill and accomplishments yes, absolutely. But, c'mon, somebody has to be there to compete with this, eventually! Good Job Jimmie!

Thats just it.only ONE other driver has done it. l hate old records broken. l did not want to see Jeff Gordon break the Championship records of Dale Sr. & Richard Petty. ..it really looked like he was on his way too. l still do not want to see these records broken so Jimmie can just stop right here. lol

No l think he and his crew chief are cheaters, l am not just a whining fan.Every one knows Chad Knaus was suspended and caught cheating more than once.So why would anybody respect him?

Total agreement. For the last few years the 48 bunch has been consistently head and shoulders above the competition when it matters the most. If l remember right, Johnson has about 40 wins total in the Cup series, already half of what Gordon has, and Johnson does not show any signs of slowing down. l have yet to see Johnson get rattled in any situation.

yes but l think he races not for the win just to show off now like he does not even care take kyle every race he wins he is so happy but jimmie just does not have that.

l love & respect Jimmie Johnson. It is amazing how far he has come in a short time. The only negative thing is he really tries too hard & puts way too much stress on himself.

l think Crew Chief Chad Knaus is the absolute best. Great team.

l am sick & tired of Roush the Ford guy with the OLD hat whining all the time. Roush whines & complains all the time. l do not respect him. l think he is crooked & evil. l hated Roush for what he did to Kurt Busch.

l do NOT want to see the Biff or Burton win.

Kyle Busch would have been awesome.

And Carl Edwards would be okay.

We got to meet Kurt Busch..it was fun anfd l have an autographed Kyle Busch hat.

Back to Jimmie..I'd be glad if he won the championship..even more so if Jeff Gordon won but not likely, eh.

Of course l respect him. He is a past champion, very consistent. As for cheating, the drivers do not do that. They drive what the crew chief gives them. l am sure NASCAR looks much closer at the #48 car before and after a race.
A three peat in this day and age is almost impossible. If he does it-good for him.

l respect Jimmie a ton. He is my third favorite driver, and in my opinion he is the best driver in nascar since jeff gordon.back when he was really good.

Everyone that loves the sport should respect him for what he has accomplished,but they have a right to their opinion.Jimmie Johnson is not a cheater & Chad Knaus likes to push everything to the limit to be the best(with the old car,no one can do anything innovative anymore);he has never specifically violated a NASCAR rule,he has just worked in the gray areas & NASCAR decided he went too far a few times(since it is a gray area,they have to be the ones to decide if they want to call it a violation or not).
Respect him or not,he is still the best on the track right now.

l respect him for what he does outside the sport. l respect the way he conducts interviews & l somewhat respect how he drives. l just hope that if he does win the championship, that it doesn’t go to his head. l think that especially this season he was put on the pole numerous times because qualifying was cancelled so that just automatically gave him the top spot, would he have had to actually qualify every time, l don’t know that we’d have the same championship leader that we do now.

My respect is so deep for Jimmie and Chad that l am planning on honoring them permanently, by getting my first tattoo ever (if they do indeed close the deal).
