Today is race was the most exciting l have ever seen in F1.Does this now prove that Lewis Hamilton is the best F1 Racing Driver ever and should those who have been so vociferous against him now relent?

would not say he was the best ever is very good and on one should have been horrible.

The best ever title is used for an entire career.
If you look at the history there are several racers with better lifetime careers.
Wait until he has a career before calling him the best ever.

l think we should wait until he has won a few more title before we can say that but at the moment he is set to be one of the best no matter what the haters think.

There has been a lot of formula 1 drivers better than lewis but he is still very young so that means he could end up the greatest ever, who knows l hope he does, lewis fan

l doubt it he would have won if he were in a Renault or Toro Rosso. He is not even the best driver on the grid right now, Fernando Alonso is. Maybe in time Lewis will surpass the records set by the greats like Senna and Schumacher but there is no way of proving that any one driver is the best ever.

Of course not! Hamilton is a very good driver. He is had some great drives this year (Britain & Germany stand out), but he is also made a lot of mistakes. Personally l do not think he deserved the title, let alone the 'best driver ever'.

He is the best youngest driver ever, as he proved today by becoming the youngest ever world champion, beating Alonso is record by a few months -just to rub a bit more salt into Alonso is still bleeding grudge wound against Lewis. Oh my, do l love that!!

Do not get carried away. The race today was not exciting because of someone who arrived 6th, er..5th (say thanks to Glock). Lewis is a good driver, somehow he won the championship but the fact that someone can even contemplate the possibility that he is the best driver EVER just makes me laugh.

Not today he wasn't. He was too busy riding around 5th place and trying to stay out of trouble. Massa was the best driver today. Compared to guys like Senna, Prost, and Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton is a taxi cab driver.

Hamilton will never be the greatest of all time. Senna is and always will be.

Senna & Schumacher were two of the best .

l loved Senna & could not stand Schumacher.

Schumacher was a lovely fellow when he started but as time went by l found him to be a bad loser. All smiles when a winner but thick & sullen when he lost & there were a few times when he won & he should not have. And then the shunt with Damon really put me off him altogether. A mean man. He spoiled F1 for me & l stopped watching until he left.

l feel the same about Lewis Hamilton. l cheered when he came along then his true colours started to show. Did not he leave England because he could not stand the fans bothering him..God help him. Would not u think he would be glad he had fans. Then did not he leave early & had to return after the last race.why would he bother to stand around to answer questions. He just annoys me now.And why does not someone give the daddy a helmet & let him drive HE really annoys me. You would think he owned F1. And someone better explain todays win to the last inth. l would rather not have to wonder any more about that. As for being a gent, Hamilton will never compare to DC & a few other drivers out there. And he is no Senna.helmet or not.

l am not a F1 fan but l watch every race with my husband & l can see past the cars. l forget some of the driver is names but there was one driver a few years ago who had awful luck with his car at almost every race but he always had the time to speak to the girl & let us know what had happened. He was always courteous & never refused to talk to her. He was a real gentleman. There were times that if l were in his place l would have been tempted to say nothing but he knew the F1 fans were watching & answered the questions. Hamilton could not care less about his fans he is full of himself . Look out if he really does well.

Not possible to compare drivers from the past with current drivers. For one thing, many of the older drivers would argue that the sport is nowhere near as dangerous as it was.

l would say he is the best F1 driver at the mo, but hes got a long way to go to be the best driver ever.
It was amazing how he out raced Alonso in his first season in the same car,all Alonso could do was play dirty games to compete with him.
l think he is here to last and not another one title wonder.

Short answer. No.

Why? He won the title by one point in one of the most powerful cars. He is had two years to work with it so knows it in & out. Jim Clark, Juan Manuel Fangio, Mike Hawthorn, Bruce Mclaren, Alberto Ascari, Graham Hill, Gilles Villeneuve, Nigel Mansell, Alain Prost, Niki Lauda, Michael Schumacher, Mika Hakkinen & Ayrton Senna to name but a few, have all achieved more and/or gained higher recongition than Hamilton.

Even Fernando Alonso started his career at Minardi before he won back to back titles. Lewis has not raced at a Toro Rosso/Super Aguri type team so we have never seen what he is capable of in an underpowered car. All we have to go on r the PR unit telling us how good he was in GP2 & so on (which is pretty normal for an aspiring young driver to be honest)

If u r young, then that sort of statement is okay. With the way F1 is now l can see him being very dominant in the years to come. He is an exciting young prospect & a very good driver. Then again so is Robert Kubica & Sebastien Vettel, who may not have made a big a splash as Hamilton did in his debut season, but he WAS in a Toro Rosso. I've watch F1 for MANY years now, & if Hamilton did not win the title by age 24 he would be called a failiure due to the amount of input & money invested in his training & development. Mclaren needed him to win soon. But l do not think he is the best, not yet. Take away the downforce applications & lets see what these new drivers can do.

l think he is very talent, maybe not the best racing driver ever (needs a longer career before we can decide that).

Just after lap 71 it says it was Glock is dry tires that were slowing him down because it was raining when Hamilton passed him

Lewis Hamilton is the greatest formula 1 driver since 2007! and now that he is Champion he will go to even higher plateaus. l certainly hope so, l am a big fan. Go Lewis Go Go Go.

Far From It!!! Michael Schumacher is a different league to hamilton, hamilton just has a good enough car to JUST win the championship, not like Schumacher dominating year in, year out.
