He also seems to have a lot of haters. Infact l read today there is websites dedicated to hating Hamilton.

Just taking a quick scan through this section l noticed he had a few haters.

Hamilton seems like a nice enough bloke to me, and he is damn talented.

AND ENGLISH!!!! :)

The only reason ive heard so far for the hate, is because Hamilton went straight into the fastest car without working his way up in F1.

Any other reasons why he is so disliked.

l know Lewis has been with McLaren since he was 15, that was not my point.

Other drivers such as Schumacher for example did not have the luxury of being with the fastest car straight away. They had to earn the right, by doing well for slower cars.

Other drivers are peeved that Lewis had the luxury of being with McLaren from an early age

l am in Brazil, where the race happened today, and l can say that, even though he and Felipe Massa (Brazilian) were competing against each other, Hamilton is not hated at all. People think he is nice, as he always talks to journalists, and - funniest thing - they think he looks like Obama. lol But, you know, every famous person has haters and fans, no matter how good they are. You just can not please everyone.

Jealousy is the real reason. There is a lot said about Hamilton is race but l do not even think it comes down to that for the vast majority. If they were being totally honest, it is because he is so young and talented and refuses to bow down to more experienced drivers as if to apologise for his talent. Good luck to him.

Looks nothing like Obama.

The other drivers do not like him as he is giving them a beating and he is so young.

Also, some people are racist.

He is arrogant, or maybe just very confident.

l do not know, the only thing l can think about is jealousy. Or racism, but l do not want to think that.

Actually, Lewis has been signed to McLaren since 1998, when he was 13!

He comes across as nice but he isn't. He is manipulative and underhand just ask Fernando Alonso.
What is English got to do with it ? F1 is international.

l can see why some perhaps think he is a little arrogant & too aggressive, but when it comes down to it l think, certainly with the other drivers, its jealousy.

Jealousy because, like u say, u could argue he has not earned the fast car. But l disagree. He has earned a fast car from his performances in the feeder championships. The reason he has been with McLaren from such a young age is that his talent/potential was there for all to see. In fact, McLaren should be applauded for nurturing such a talent, instead of letting it go to waste.

They r also jealous of his pure ability - he came in last year & showed up even the most experienced drivers - as a rookie!

Hats off to Lewis, u deserve it.

Ask Alonso? Alonso is the last person to teach anyone on being a kind considerate human being.

It is his attitude.

What is all this talk about Hamilton not starting out in 'slow' cars & working his way up into a McLaren ?!

l think topics like this r deliberately started to detract from his special talent. If all that a driver had to do was simply sit in a McLaren & win races after races, how come the last time the team won the drivers' championship was 9 years ago with Mika Hakkinen ?!

Other drivers have driven the McLaren since then & got nothing out the cars. Alonso won the championship twice in a Renault & then jumped into a Mclaren. l do not recall him winning every race in that car neither did he win the drivers' championship in a McLaren.
Other great drivers who raced the McLaren before him include David Coulthard, Pablo Montoya & Kimi Raikkonen. These guys got nothing out the McLaren. Yet Kimi went on to win the 2007 drivers' championship in a Ferarri ! What does that say aboutt the McLaren cars? Kovalainen is not a bad driver, but look what he is managed to achieve in a McLaren !

Hamilton comes along & puts so many other drivers in the shade with his driving skills. That is a bit hard for many to swallow, even his fellow drivers. l challenge anyone out there to go & ask the Mclaren team who they would rather have driving their car. l do not think they r looking for a driver who is done 5 years with the old 'Arrows' team & is therefore now ready for drive a Mclaren. They simply want a guy who can wring victories out of their car & they have certainly found one in Hamilton !!
Go on & celebrate, Hamilton, & let the haters stew in their own venom !!

l do not want to be controversial, but perhaps some feel that being 'coloured' was to his advantage; that he was the beneficiary of affirmative action as Formula One tried to shed its ''rich, white man is sport'' image & promote a black driver for publicity.

The other reason of course is that although he went in as an understudy to Fernando Alonso, he performed more consistently, after which the team considered him their lead driver at the expense of a two-time world champion, & people perceived him to be an upstart & the recipient of favoritism.

l do not think that being with McLaren from age 10 counts against him (in other people is opinion). He was not the only driver in McLaren is driver development program, & the reason he made it all the way up while the others did not was due to his consistent progress as a driver.

Hamilton did not make his way to F1 straight from a karting career. He had to make his way up from the British Formula Renault competition, to British Formula Three, the Formula Three Euroseries, the Ultimate Masters of Formula Three, & then the GP2 circuit before getting his chance in F1. l do not think anyone should hold a grudge on him for what he has achieved, but people may still feel he gets preferential treatment due to his colour & discord with Alonso that led to the latter leaving McLaren.

Lewis did work his way up in the racing world as did Nelsinho & all the others such as Schummi, they all came through from Karting, GP2 etc & then to F1, thats the normal route so what do people want Lewis to do ? he has 14 years behind him before F1. Ron Dennis gave him a break, what woudl otherteam Bosses have done ? Called him the N word & told him to get lost wouldnt they, coudl u se Flav Briatori or the Ferrari lot giving him a break in F1, dont think so.
There was another Black man trying to get sponsorship into F1 years ago, he failed miserably.
