This weekend it has surfaced that almost half way through the season, Schumacher as test driver made major changes to the handling of the Ferrari which helped Massa but not Raikkonen who battled to get used to the new setups,Kimi was flying at the start of the season, now that Lewis has beaten Massa l ask, did Ferrari shot themselves in the foot?

l read an article on ITV that addressed this issue. It is not about being fair or unfair to one driver or another. It is about developing the car in order to extract the maximum amount of performance. There was a similar situation at STR. At the start of the season Bourdais & Vettel were very close, but once STR got their new chassis Bourdais fell off. The chassis suited Vettel is style much more according to what Bourdais told David Hobbs of SpeedTV (U.S. TV)

Michael also mentioned that Raikkonen is independent nature has proven to be a blessing & a curse for him. MS said that Massa was much more willing to seek the advice of the team in order to make things right. MS also mentioned that a lot of it has to do with Kimi still adjusting to a new team. l expect Kimi to be back in shape for 09.

Now what l worry most is if Ferrari supports Massa for the title bid again for next year instead of letting both of them battle it out fairly,Raikkonen is gonna waste another season -_-

Considering that Massa was the one who nearly got the boot earlier in the season, and with Alonso expected to drive for Ferrari in the next two years or so, l think Kimi got as much of a fair deal as he could expect. Most of the test driving during the European winter is going to be done by Kimi, so again, Massa will be disadvantaged.

Well a few races ago kimi raikkonen got a brand new chassis from ferrari that massa didnt get, to help him as he wasnt getting the results they wanted so yeah they were pretty fair im sure, obviously the last race of the season wereby only massa could take the title they had to concentrate on him. Just like mclaren were more concerned about lewis than kovallinen in brazil too.
