l know that the drivers always have wives or girlfriends that they take on the road with them but what about the pit crew? l know some have wives, do they ever get to have them tag along as well? If not how can they have a relationship considering that 10 months out of the year they are away and the other two im sure they dont just go home without any kind of work. Does anyone know if the wives are allowed to travel as well?

Not sure. Wives do not get to go in the army with their blokes but still have a relationship with them. It works for some people. l could not do it l think.

No l dont think so, l know some people who work as mechanics and a team manager in a World superbike team and they come home maybe 2 days every 2 weeks. And thats the only time they see their girlfriends/wives

l used to know a chap who worked as a mechanic for Williams. Wives did not tag along. They're at work. The wives got over it!

It is like any other job that requires a lot of traveling, they are away from their families for long periods but l guess they can pick up the scraps from the drivers and rich team bosses while they are on the road.

l know two guys that worked for Prost Racing, they both had the adventurer type, they just did not care. l believe this behavior is majority in this profession, they work a lot and are poorly paid, but they travel the world, work in the best place in the world and have lots of fun.

In other words: The vast majority of then are single, but when they are not the girlfriends/wives do not travel around with then.

l know a female colleague who had had a fling with an Arrow is mechanic. He was married at the time apparently!
