My opinion, well Alonso is back to his 2005, human clock days. Kubica fought with the car & made it 2nd which is great. Raikkonen was the best of the 3 top team drivers this time. l am not sure why did they penalize him, but it was a hell of a start.

l think l will remember this season for Alonso taking Renault back to winning days more than anything else.

EDIT2: l really thought Raikkonen got penalized, l must have been dreaming (thanks F1 for forcing me to wake up early in a Sunday).

l believe the answer is that he is getting a taste of his own medicine. It was not that aggressive racing is Hamilton is monopoly, any of the 20 out there can do it. Massa just showed that he is not to be bullied.

Hamilton is start raises brows, it was reckless & he nearly took out his team mate by the first turn. Making a mistake in start is one thing, but compounding it with reckless racing is sheer dumbness. The last lap aggression on Alonso was absolutely pointless, proving that he is more of a hooligan than a sensible driver.

Fuji 2008 proves that Alonso is the best out there, taking that Renault to a win was mesmerizing.

Last three races panic! he lost 17 points last year & this year he lost 10 with 10 to go!
Hamilton got about 3 penalties this year so he is dirty handed & anything he will do would handle him a penalty. That is how the FIA works: they let u get away with the first assuming it is not intended (Monza 2007) then every time u make a mistake u r done, Hamilton should have known that.
Raikkonen overtook you, so what is the big deal? drive in second & u will throw him & Kubica out of title chase & Massa is in 5th anyways.
Still Massa made a mistake (WOW!) he could have finished in fourth at least crushing Hamilton is hopes but No.
Massa now needs Raikkonen assistant to return the favor from last year. but l have a feeling that if Massa won this year it wo not be because of Raikkonen but a certain guy wearing a yellow helmet!

BTW Raikkonen was not penalized he just got driven off road

to be honest all he had to do was finish the race in the points and l remember that lewis said no one over takes him on the first Corner or chicane and since kimi did that he felt the pressure and wanted that place back which led the whole Field being jumbled!

Today showed that Lewis still has some leasons to learn, but let is not forget he is still only in his second season. The thing is, he knew he messed up & he will be kicking himself more than anyone else ever could, ( ref: interview after race ! )
l have to say, although l am not really an Alonso fan..hat is off to him, he has been awesome in the latter stages of this year.
All in all, what a season. So many different & unexpected winners, with some truly great races. This is why l love our sport :-)

Hamilton made one mistake, it happens.

Luckily Massa is the only serious contender for the title and so Hamilton is 6 point lead should be enough for the championship as Massa also makes lots of dumb errors.

Pressure. That is all l can say. Once he screwed up the start he should have played the conservative role. He reminds me so much of Senna in this way: Many people do not realize or do not remember that Ayrton was stubborn & often let the moment get the best of him. Now before the thumbs down start let me make this clear; Ayrton Senna was & is my favorite f1 driver of all time, that said there is a very good reason why he had over 60 pole positions & only 44 race wins. l remember seeing him throw away many races due to his over aggression, Hamilton has this same quality. He must learn to harness this, or he will throw away another WDC.

l think he is once Again letting the pressure get to him. Instead of playing it smart, he tried to be a hero and almost fucked it up for everyone. When he fell behind Kimi, he could have waited a bit longer, instead he cut in front of heikki and ended up going wide. That bit at the end when he unlapped himself was very erratic, l do not know what the hell he was thinking driving like that on the final lap in last place he could have taken out Alonso.

He. Lost. It. Again. He just can not keep cool & not lose his head when someone gets ahead of him. He has to fight back & risk destructing his race. Yes yes yes. he hates fighting for points & aims for wins instead but sometimes 8 points s better than finishing 12th with nothing. He could've damaged Heikki is car as well with that move. And because of that manouvre, many cars were bunched up at the first corner (swerving around, braking etc to avoid hitting people & the casualty was DC)

Hamilton NEEDS to keep his cool or lose the championship. He has not learned from what happened last year. Massa seems to have that can not-keep-cool problem too. His move on Webber is questionable (did he go out of the racing line?) & the collision with Bourdais. At this rate, Kubica will be World Champion

l am sorry but a boy can not turn into a man overnight. Hamilton may be a great driver (the jury is still out on that in my book), but in terms of race driving he obviously has a lot still to learn. Why the heck did he need to go out there with all guns blazing? Okay, u could say he is a racer, can not help himself. But surely common sense (hah) should have told him to get home, okay, in second, still ahead of Massa, job done. So what does he do? Goes nuts! Bang crash, oops, oh dear l am 12th.

You could say it is a Ferrari conspiracy, but Hamilton sure is playing right into their hands with his actions.

Frankly l just believe it is all been a little too much, too soon. And where r his team advisers in all of this?

So do u think he is in this for the long-stretch, or have the toys gone out the pram, & he will be off as fast as he arrived? Right now, l am not sure.

l think his bad getaway spooked him and he tried too hard to get it back. either that or a bit of road/track rage maybe eh. another lesson learned for the lad. Hope he does not do it again in the last few races!!! severe slap on the wrist from Dad l think.
