Let is see....if Jr, Stewart, Gordon, Johnson, Kyle, and so on wins a race there are hundreds of post made about it.However, when Burton wins a race, there is not a single person talking about it.How underrated is Jeff Burton in Nascar?

l know Burton has fans.He is everyone second favorite driver.So why no love for Burton who just won the Bank of America 500 and has gained 52 points on Johnson in the last two races.He is now 69 points out.Any hoo, I will give him credit were credit is due.l am happy that Burton won the Bank of America 500.Even though everyone is already giving Johnson the championship long before the chase is over, let is not forget about Burton who is the silent sleeper for the championship.

And yes hes underrated to a certain point. But he is also everyones 2nd or 3rd favorite driver. He is definatly my favorite!

l do not understand why NASCAR fans do not give more credit to Jeff Burton. He is a great driver, very smart & an overall good person. But it seems week after week he is just left out in the cold. Here is he has finished in the top 10 in every race in the chase, had a 4th place finish at Talladega where he normally is always a victim in the big one. but has anyone praised Jeff Burton for his accomplishments & success so far in the chase? NO!

I've always been amazed he is so far under the radar. He is one of the top three class mature drivers that takes care of his car and races clean. l answered the question yesterday about who would win the race, l picked Burton. Amazingly, l got some thumbs down !!! Shows the lack of knowledge for many NASCAR fans.
By the way-his team does take chances. The last three pit stops they took fuel only, no tires. They were the only car to do that.

Burton is one of my favorites. (the only one left with a chance)

l am am stoked for Burton winning at Charlotte but as for not talking about Burton, l was at an Alan Jackson concert in Memphis Saturday and got home real late. Expect me to mention Burton in my next question.

l am happy about him winning, l think its awesome, l would not say he is underated, he is not the media idiots favorite driver, its all about that 3Peak crap. l am glad Jeff Burton win, he is the quite one, stays consistent. Burton has fans on here. l hope the media idiots have to eat crow big time when their darling Jimmie does not win the championship.. l like Jimmie Johnson, but he is not deserving of Cale Yarbroughs record. Jimmie will probably win 5 championships. But this could be the sweetest one ever for Jeff Burton.. Go get'um #31 u can do it, Then the media idiots will have to talk about you.

Hey Brett asked a question about Burton last night. l know because l answered it. Calm down dude. l like Burton. Good driver Great man. Good luck to him.

Other people have posted questions about Burton is win.There r a lot of people here who r excited that Burton won(including myself).Good for Jeff for being able to make up that much ground in the championship standings. l agree that Burton is a dark horse for the championship & hope that he wins it if something happens to Jimmie.However,Jimmie is going to HAVE to have problems for Burton to catch him.Do not forget,Johnson is just as consistent(if not more so in the Chase)than Burton.Talladega(9th) was Jimmie is worst finish since Bristol in August.Since then,he has finished: 1st,1st,5th,2nd,1st,9th,6th.

WEll considering it did not get over till way late last night, l just waited until this morning to say anything.
l was really excited about his win. And yes u r correct he does not get any exposure on here, if he does it is not much, & that is a shame cause he is a very good driver. He has been very consistent all year long that is why he is where he is at right now. l hope he can pull it off & win the championship that would be awesome.


Considering that my driver does not have a chance at all in winning now. l am rooting for Burton!!!!!

He just doesnt have as large of a fan base as some of the other drivers do...its all good, Burton is a great driver, and did a great job!!!!

i'm with you,he is one of the best drivers out there,and he shows it every time he straps into a race car,he is forgot more than most of the rest of them will ever know,he is ranked up there with r.petty,d.Earnhardt,jr. johnson,and the list just keeps on going.he was winning when all he had on the side of his car was white paint and no sponsors,so if any one wants to start a hard core fan club for him,i'm ready,he is one of the BEST

l am very glad that Jeff won. However, l was asleep for most of the race so it was hard to comment on it. l DVRed the race so l will probably have more to say after I've seen the end of it. When l quit watching Jeff Gordon was out front.

l know l am in the minority, but l really hate the night races. l have a 2 year old that wakes up at 6 every morning & l am wiped out by 10 PM. l tried so hard to stay awake last night but did not have any luck.

Jeff is definitely an understated driver. He is a homestater, not to mention a great driver, and l would love to see him get the championship. l think he is very deserving of the title.

Maybe because he is not as popular as the rest of them you named. His fan base is not as large. He is ok in my book, very consistent

shoot me and jeff is the same age --we went to different schools together
i was happy as hell he won -- daddy was even happier
i even worked on construction jobs around his daddy who owns j.e. burton construction

l want to let u know that several members of Nascar Nation r very big Jeff Burton fans & would never ever give the championship to JJ at this point in the chase. We would not give it to any body at this point.

Before the chase in 1992 it went down to three drivers during the last race- Bill Elliot , Alan Kulwicki & Davey Allison. They all were in contention. This is a sport that can have anything happen any time to anyone so before we give out the cup award let is wait until the last flag drops.
