Kart racing. most racing drivers start there.

Go Kart racing, legends car, and bandoleros are a few. Some racetracks do not have an age limit and a 14 yr old can race mini stocks, street stocks, midgets or sprint cars. It all depends on the track rules. You can also race in the Skip Barber Formula series.

Like the others suggested Go-karts are the ideal place to start. Most Australian V8 Supercar drivers started in them. Michael Schumaker, Lewis Hamilton in F1 to name a few.
There are different types of karting, super-karts, sprint-karts etc.
My own nephew started in sprints and is now a CAMS (Australia) rising Star in Formula Fords.
In the states my best example would be Marcus Ambrose who drove karts and went into supercars and now drives NASCARs.
