My two guy friends are arguing whether there is an American muscle car that is naturally aspirated that runs 7.88 seconds or less on a drag strip. Does not have to be street legal... obviously. Can not be a super turbo charger or nitro. They're placing big money on this and we need proof. Maybe a video or online land speed record postings. Let me know ASAP before they tear each others heads off!

Well, a new corvette z06 7.0l runs 1/4 in 10.85 seconds. Unlikely that a naturally aspired american muscle car would be at the finish before the vette gets half way. For a standard 1969 Camaro does the 1/4 in roughly 12.75 sec.

This is probably what they were referring to. A Camaro that pulled a trailer 1000 miles and ran 7.64 seconds in the 1/4 mile.

The car is turbocharged.

There are lots of naturally aspirated Camaros that run in the 6 second range that are not street legal

NHRA Pro Stock is are naturally aspirated and run like 6's.

Theres a car over here in Australia that runs in Pro Street Unblown (no turbo charger, no super charger, no nitrous oxide) class built by Trick & Mansweto & driven by Tristan Ockers.

Its a 1969 Ford Capri with a 604ci Ford motor that runs 7.41 185mph over the 1/4.

It is in the Pro Street catergory which allows extensive chasis mods (tubs, 4 links etc) but as far as being a ''street car'' if u drove it to the shops it would overheat & any cop would defect it on the spot.

in the ihra there are some pro stocks that are naturally aspirated and they run high 6 is but that about as fast as a naturally aspirated car can go with the technology we have
