l agree with the first guy. Bill won. Kulwicki won the points by 10 by leading one more lap than Bill. It was Richard Petty is last race and Jeff Gordon is first race. l could have gone and l passed. Dumb move!!!

darlington 2003. the battle between kurt busch & ricky craven for the closest finish since they began with electronic timing. those two beat & slid & hit the wall & kept on bashing for the last three or four laps, then continued to do so after they seemingly locked together across the finish & all down the frontstretch. awesome.
there r many other races previous to that i'd love to go back & see, but that is the one that really cemented my position as a nascar fan when l watched it on tv. & darlington would be a cool track for this left-coaster to go watch a track at, especially as we took one of the races from there & put it at ''fontuckit''--a terrible place to watch mainly bad racing.

For me, personally, l would want to be at the July 2001 Daytona race that Dale Jr. won - l know it is not that long ago, and it was a win that really did not ''mean'' anything. Except that it DID mean something for Jr, and DEI, and really anyone who knew and/or appreciated what Dale Earnhardt stood for in racing.
Jr. battled back and beat the beast that ultimately beat his father - l am not too proud to say l had tears that night.

to see in person?? Well, it is a hard toss-up between the 2000 fall talladega race where Dale got his last win and Dale Jr is victory at Daytona in July 2001.

1998 Daytona 500, that was one great race l was there l do not know who was happier me or my dad. l am glad he got to see him win as my dad passed away later that yr. It was one great race.
