everyone moans about the changes the FIA make to the sport, but what would you change if you were in charge?
remembering that F1 pushes the boundaries not only in motorsport but many other areas Communications - the environment - engineering - technological and physical development

When F1 becomes less predictable and only two teams have access to the ''engineering, tech, etc...''. It is not competitive any longer. Races are not even won on the track any longer in F1, their won in computer labs and garages.

Tricky, l used to love it but now it is just mundane.
l can not understand how people like david coulthard coould be f1 champion then lose it? Just for the fact he went to a worse team. l think the cars need to be on a level playing field then the drivers would have a fair chance.
How can jenson button be a worse driver than hammilton? just does not seem to make sense

The biggest threat to F1 is the global economy. The worldwide financial system is in crisis & F1 is high costs r well-documented. This is most likely the most severe economic crisis since the Great Depression.

If a major bank has to be taken over by taxpayer money, l do not think it is responsible to keep spending millions of dollars sponsoring F1.

Now is not the time to talk about changing rules unless one is certain those changes save money. A lot of changes cost money or shift development cost to suppliers & partners.

We need the development that F1 has brought to the every day car ~ things like disc braking, suspension & the like.

But the one thing l would bring back, & it would prove a ''drivers worth'' is the manuel change of gears ~ this would bring the real feel for driving into a race instead of them only having to flip a switch on the steering column ~ l know many will not agree with me, but to bring it back to a proper ''racing sport'' there has to be more involvement of the driver in how he handles the car, & less on the pits ''adjusting'' & fine tuning the car as they r racing.

Just a thought.

Some spring cleaning of management is needed. On the whole Max mosley& Bernie Ecclestone have done a good job but some new life is needed to get F1 through a tough financial time.
the involvement of more ex F1 drivers is needed, people with great knowledge & respect like Niki Lauda, Alain Prost & the like.
Rules with fundamental flaws need looking at, the no pitting during safety car, why not let cars that can prove they have 2 laps or less fuel pit? they can be held there with the red light until safe to exit.
they keep on about there is no money, why not cut the races back to 16 a year? the countries involved will all up their game to try & stay on the list.
Stop the petty rule changes. Introduce slick tyres/ great but why get rid of them in the first place.
Introduce an incentive for a new team or 2 to join the grid. 20 cars just is not enough a race. Say a £10m cash off joining fee for serious new teams, that only gets paid out for being within 2 seconds of pole on a regular (say 75% of the time) basis.
Stop burning money. The 2.4 V8 engine rule, why? just rev limit the 3.0 V10 if power is getting out of hand, worked well with Torro Rosso in 2006, only had 1 engine failure all year too.

Replace bernie with some one younger and better..!!..
He is become less daring and cant really take risks..

He says F1 is pinnacle of motorsports..but when he will convert F1 into standard engine ..it will no question lose that status..A1 GP will take that status over..sure..

Easy - If the FIA stop fixing the races it will be back to its best. Handing out stupid and wrong fines and penaltys is ruining the sport, look at bourdais last weekend for eg. they only did that so massa would double his points. l really hope Hamilton wins the title. he deserves it after all the help ferrari have had for the stewards

The biggest thing I'd like to see is smaller wings/less downforce. Lets get it to where the cars slide around a little. l think it would also make it easier to make passes and race near each other.

Remove, if possible, all traces of organised crime from the FIA and the teams.

It is probably too late now though.

l think the FIA have made the sport 'boring'. l like it when you get to see some really good action e.g. crashes, and all out fighting through out the race. If every team had the same car with the same engine, same technology and same everything it would make it more exciting for us watching and the drivers will have more of a challenge.

The FIA need to sort themselves out, write the rules so they are clear and then make sure they are enforced fairly for all drivers.

We've had two great seasons, so apart from the above l do not think there is much wrong.

Well allowing the drivers to actually Race would be a start. Looking at the rules & regs. & if necessary revamping them, & then sticking to them instead of changing them every week (as it seems lately) would be another.

Getting rid of Bernie might help - he has way too much of a stranglehold on the whole of F1.

Bottom line is probably there is way too much money tied up in F1 now (with the acknowledgement of the contribution F1 has made to the technological development/advancement of ur basic road car).

Oh & it would be nice if the races were won on the track, not in the pits!!!

Note, I've refrained from mentioning that Red Team & their continuing influence, apparently, on the whole F1 scene, here but .....
