Has any driver ever crashed against a official car in nascar during a race (by accident)

l remember it happened once a while back.it must have been in the late 90 is when the pace car and another car were trying to leave pit road at the same time, and the pace car got hit from behind. No one was hurt, and NASCAR had a back up pace car.

l can not remember what track it was at, or which driver hit him.

l am not sure about NASCAR.

There was an ARCA( l think) race about 10 years ago where there was an accident, and the first aiders were at the car. They were still racing to the yellow and another car spun out, hit the stopped car and sent the first aider into the air. He got partially run over by the car and burned his legs pretty bad. This was one of the reasons they stopped racing to the yellow.

l know big E used to bump the pace car dont think any one has crashed into it.

Jeff Gordon probably has.

Not that l know of but one year a long time ago a drunk fan did steal the pace car and took if for a drive till the police caught him and dragged him off to the klink.
