He is a 2 time defending Cup champion going for a 3rd, arguably one of the best drivers in the cup series.
But he is horrible in the Nationwide series, he has even said it himself.Granted l know he had a loose car tonight, but he just does not seem to do well at all in the Nationwide series.
Anybody got any theories as to why?

l am also not bashing him by any means, just perplexed.

l guess he has trouble driving a car that is not set up perfect.

No Knaus l guess.

It is odd. Even when he is had Knaus on the pit box he has not ever been that stellar in the NW series. What I've heard from him is he thinks that the lower power of the cars just does not fit his ''driving style''. It does not seem to effect the other cup drivers that race in the series though lol.

Their efforts and time are not in the Nationwide..it is for fun..

Their not trying hard or it is the old car and setting up for it..

Or they're lying low in the Nationwide Series. keeping it all for the Cup

Probably the set ups.

The Nationwide cars are different from the COY's. He probably isnt used to the way they are set up or the way the necessarily drive. The weight of the car could be different and he isnt used to it.

l dont know for sure.

Well it does not matter much. But, l too have wondered the same thing many times.But the NW cars at Lowe is are always loose.
The COY and COT cars are aerodynamically different.

knaus is with him....i guess he is just use to that faster Cup car.

l agree w/ everyone sayin no chad.

also he is good with more horsepower and NNS cars dont have as much

l would assume it would be partially because his main man Chad is not usually atop the pit box in his Nationwide Series starts and he is so used to Chad is setups.Whatever the reason is,he has never really done great in the Nationwide Series.He only has one win at Chicagoland in 2001 in that series.Either way,it does not matter,he is the best in the best series ;)

Since he does not race in it often enough, maybe it is hard to have any kind of data.set up the car this track, that track.Lots of other variables too. Different crew chief, different cars.

Would like to know what he has to say about it.
