l am not a big fan of Jimmie, but man you have to give him his props for his career.On thing l would like to point out is that Jimmie is an awesome driver, but probably not in the top five greatest, but still a great driver, but what is unique about the 48 is the entire time is awesome, from Crew Chief to tire changer to the guy hanging the bodies on the 48.Given no major defections from the 48 team. (trust me, other owners throw big bucks at members of championship teams) This team may be a force for years to come. Look at Jimmie, he is only 33 years old, by NASCAR averages, he has at least 10 more competive years, by average he wins 6 races a year. Do you think he will pass Jeff Gordon by the time he hangs up his helment?The numbers say yes.

More than likely he will surpass Gordon is record and set a few of his own.

this guy has a lot of undeniable talent. never underestimate jimmie johnson. l learned that the hard way.

No,he is not in the top 5 on the all-time greats list YET,but he will be by the time he retires, l am sure.
This team is so great because they ALL have chemistry;there r all but about four of the original members of that team still working together;no other team has that.There is just so much depth in that team & organization.
l believe he will race at least 10 more years & have many more wins & championships.As far as passing Gordon goes,we will have to see what Gordon leaves when he retires.The field is more competitive these days than they were in Gordon is prime(not saying there were not great drivers because u had Earnhardt,Martin,Wallace,etc. still racing;there r just MORE drivers able to win on any given week now than ever before) & the tolerances r tighter & the crews have less room for innovation than they did then,making it more equal,Ray Evernham said so himself on NASCAR Now yesterday.At the same time,it is hard to compare drivers in different eras(as we have seen on here before),but l think he will be close if he does not surpass him.

The guy is pheonmenal but what makes him so great is the team he has. The 48 team clicked right away. Think about it first full year in his first restrictor plate race the team wins the pole for Daytona 500. He wins California & sweeps both Dover Races. Never has the team finished outside the top FIVE in points! Has won the most races in the series since 2002 & has the best winning percentage among all active drivers. l say he is the best driver of this decade thus far & is only lacking wins at road courses Bristol & a few other tracks. If he & the 48 team stay together chances r that they will come extremely close to Jeff Gordon is win record but he will win more titles than Jeff Gordon.
