The popular PlayStation game you may all know about.
I've unlocked a couple F1 cars but have not seen anything from NASCAR in the game. The game is tag line is ''The Real Driving Simulator is NASCAR not real driving?
There are not any in Forza Motor sport either whats up with that?

l wondered same thing, but answer is no there is no Nascar stock cars in the past Gran Turismo 4. but l hope in GT5 they have them!!!

Gran Turismo is more about road racing. Although GT5p has Daytona as one of the tracks.

In Gran Turismo 2, you could get a Ford Taurus. Once you outfitted it with the race-body mod., it looked like the NASCAR version of the Taurus. Kinda. That is as close as l can get for you. l only played GT 3 a little, and have not played the series since l jumped from Playstation to XBOX, and XBOX 360.

l am not quite sure which one it was in, but you did get a Mark Martin #6 Valvoline car in one of them (either the first or second). But that was before the success of the EA Sport NASCAR games. Now that is the only place to find NASCAR cars ( l think it is a licensing thing). There used to be other software companies that made NASCAR games, but l am quite sure it is an EA exclusive now. So that is why you can not find them anywhere else.

They do contain 2 NASCAR esque tracks: Super Speedway and Test Track. Of course they are the easiest tracks to play on given you have the fastest car. But no stock cars were put into the game probably because you can make one yourself by souping it up and doing all the weight reductions. Same effect l guess, just not all the stickers and garbage.
F1 cars were put into the games because Formula1 is the pinnacle of motorsport and is what all cars aspire to be like.

There was one or two stock cars in an early series. But the GT4 never really had stock racing culture in it. It had cars from Super GT, WRC, LeMans, DTM, WTCC (previous ETCC).

Altough they have NASCAR tracks. The GT4 had the Infineon (Sonoma) Stock Car Course, an oval test track & the new GT5 includes the Daytona.

And the openwheel racer in the GT4 is not really an F1. It resembles a GP2xA1GP more.

To add official championship cars like NASCAR & F1, u have to take permission from the running corporation of the sport. They might have avoided that.

But as NASCAR is the top motorsport, l agree they should include more stock cars & real life tracks. l would love to get the Texaco/Halvoline #42 or National Guard #88.
