They both good drivers, & they both have been in NASCAR for about the same time (Stewart is debut was in 1999 & Jr is in 2000). Stewart is definitely the better driver right now: 2 Cup Championships & 33 wins (two at the Brickyard), & that does not have to do with Zippy. Tony Eury, Sr. won more races with Dale than Tony Jr., so l think that most of Dale Jr is results in his career have been from his own driving ability. 18 wins, including a Daytona 500, is still impressive, though.

WEll l am a major Junior fan. But, Tony can drive almost anything he wants too. He has also won a couple of championships.
So yes Tony is a better driver than Junior.

Stewart is a 4th place driver with 7th place equipment. Dale Jr is a 15th place driver with 2nd place equipment.

l see u were the 1st person to answer ur own question. but to say junior has better equipment than tony stewart has at JGR is a joke. stewart has been in superior eqipment his entire career. but now, finally this year now that junior is in equal eqipment, he is proven he is as good a driver as there is in NASCAR. so u with ur 2 accounts & the rest of the haters can ignore the facts all u want, but we all know the score.

Tony can drive anything on 4 wheels, so yes he is and Zippy has nothing to do with Tony is driving ability as much as l love Zippy!

Love him or hate him, Stewart is probably the best race driver in the U.S. right now. He is the only driver out there with championships in Indycars and Cup cars, not mentioning all his other accomplishments.

Tony drives to destroy the competition (next year)
Junior drives to be user friendly.
l like watching them both drive. No one can run the high line like Junior, and that can provide for some good entertainment. Tony Stewart is not afraid to get into somebody (next year). l will give Tony the edge on this one, but Junior is most likely one of the top five.

Well, l like them both, actually. l think they are both great driver's, and I've seen Tony and Jr. race neck and neck for position. Being a Jr. fan l say Dale Jr. is the better driver, but Tony is also a great driver.
Edit: know it all, yes l noticed he was the first to answer his own question as well. He is real good at that.

He does have a better crew chief, Zippy is an elite one, but he is also a better driver. He is not better than Jimmie and Jeff but right in there with them.

l think Stewart is a better driver.....Dale Jr is a better person however & no matter what the haters say, he is a very good driver. You do not finish in the top 12 after 26 races if u r not.
