That Surfers Paradise will be back on the schedule.. l sure hope so.

We shall have to wait and see. l know that the drivers all appreciate the time that they get before the race to experience all that is Surfers Paradise/Gold Coast. l think that if the racing is good and the fans fill the stands, they should return as they are in discussion in keeping a race for the next few years.

If it does stay on, l hope it is not the final race of the year. l like the track, but it seems like such a long way to go when there is plenty of tracks in North America that could use or deserve a date. Cleveland for one!

l hope not. The fans down under deserve better than the IRL.

So far, the times r 4 seconds slower per lap, the crowd is way down, & the cool looking Champ Cars r not there.

As of this morning, the fastest .1RL car is slower than the slowest Champ Car from last season.

Only someone like Tony George could screw up a weekend that drew over 300,000 people BEFORE even racing there.......
Of course, look at what he has done with Indy - so one should not be suprised.


EDIT - this is the FIRST TIME the .1RL has been to Surfers. It was a fabulous race when Champ Car/CART was there.

Im pretty sure they said last night that it will be back for next year for sure but they dont know when. l hope it does. its always been a fabulous race
