What is it about Steve Latarte is crew chief abilities that are making so many of you wanting his resignation?
l honestly do not get it.
Is it because he has not won any races yet this year?

Simple. Because of his uncalled-for pit stops at Charlotte.
He knew clean air was important and he not once but twice brought Gordon in for 4 fresh tires. That is just ridiculous. It cost Jeff Gordon the win.. l know it!
And l am very very frustrated that still Jeff Gordon does not have a win.

l am a Gordon fan, and l am wondering also. l agree that Steve has not made the best calls, but Jeff has been there for him 100%. In fact, it was Letarte that made the call to stay out at Pocono last year which gave the #24 the win after it rained. l have not been happy that he has not won either, but l only would feel like blaming Steve Letarte if Jeff felt like blaming him.

l listen to Jeff is radio every race & he will tell Steve what is wrong with the car & every time he seems to make it worse. Like last week Jeff told him he wanted 2 rounds of wedge out of the car Steve has them take 6 rounds out. Steve tells Jeff it will come him in the long run,it actually got WAY worse. Jeff told him , l got in the wall a little & chattered the hell out of the left rear . Jeff comes in they put right sides on only ! Lap times got worse. l could go on & on !

Robby Gordon is fans are bummed. He is a young talented crew chief, and when the first race he was Jeff is crew chief l said ''o oh'' for the other drivers.

l think the 24 team is having the same problem the #88 team has had, its communication, l listen to both radio communications, it just seems that the drivers are giving info to the crew chief and it makes the car worse..IDK but l do have some Jeff Gordon fans as friends and they are having major meltdowns l don;t even think prozac is gonna help them..

we would sure like to see the wins but it is still pretty awesome to be in the chase! i'm not sure about him resigning but would like to see better decisions.

He makes some very questionable pit calls. Charlotte is an example he pitted him from the lead to put on 4 tires & never got back to the front. He had a definite top five finish locked & even may have won the race. He cannot make the car better during the race & sometimes it gets worse. However last year he made some good calls & made the right call at Martinsville last week by taking two tires on the last stop. Had he not done so Jeff finishes outside the top five & proably finishes about 7th or 8th. l will give LeTarte another year but if things dont improve hopefully a change will be made.

Steve Letarte and Tony Eury Jr should swap drivers and that would quiet all the Jeff and Jr fans griping about their drivers' crew chief is 2008 bad decisions.

For me it is because he never has improved the car during the course of the race. He always makes it worse. He lost the knack for this car. He needs to go to being a Nationwide crew chief. He'd be successful there.
