Why so few questions about NHRA, IHRA and other smaller associations of drag racing?

Not much to know, go fast and stop 5 to 7 seconds later. It all happens too fast.

l was unaware that drag racing was considered a racing sport.race tracks have corners and straights therefore drag racing has always been classified by me as nap time.

All the people that said drag racing is not racing sont know what there talking about. Theres heaps to it, car set up, track conditions, weather condtions (air temps etc) everyingthing you have to do to get that .002 of a second to beat your oppenont.

l do not know why but that is fine with me. l have been to sprint cup races and to national NHRA events, and although l love cup racing l do not know if l will ever fight the CROWDS to see another one but l will definitely go to the drags again. nascar racing is better on tv and drag racing is so much better in person. so be very very quiet l do not want the thrill of the NHRA getting out.

Because they do not have a section for it. l have asked them repeatedly for a section, but they wo not do it. Every now and then a question pops up here about it.

l do not know! You would think there would be a million of them. Especially pertaining to bracket racing(handicap racing) because it is the only motor-sport in the world were u can take ur wifes minivan, pay ur 25 bucks & race & win a trophy. Bracket racing is based on consistancy.
My home track, Gateway, is EXTREMELY competitive. The average reaction time in Saturday night point is racing is .020 seconds.
l race a '69 Camaro & have made it to the final is only twice & lost both times.
You must know things like the distance between the stage & pre stage beams, the height of the finish line beam so u can determine if ur tire or front spoiler is setting it off(it is higher than the stage beams), what effects FRONT tire pressures play on ur reactin time's, where to stage, driving techniques(if ur the faster car u start to move to the inside & if ur slower u move toward the wall), u have to have a weather station & a log book & log every weather condition of every run with timeslip.

Both times l lost l spun the tires a little & ran slightly slower & gave the guy the stripe. l finally learned u have to short shift to slow ur car down slightly every single pass u make because the next time l am in the final & spin, l will be long shifting at the optimum shift point to make up the little bit of time l lost spinning.

As far as 'heads up' racing like the NHRA top series, l think anybody that thinks racing the fastest accellerating cars in the WORLD is not real racing is a fool. I've been to 14 national NHRA events so far.
