Arguably the best closed circuit track in the world, why doesn't Road America attract Formula One

i agree its one of the best tracks around, but the location kills it for formula 1

It woud cost way too much to make the necessary improvements to host a F1 race.

l heard the track was really far from hotels and shopping malls which is a shame because it is a great track.

Road America is a really great track, unfortunately the associated facilities aren’t up to F1 standards. The pits would need major upgrades as would the road links to the place as well. The track is also probably a bit too narrow and would need widening, although it is a great circuit.

It is too short for one.

Ecclistone is Americophobic!

Hosting an F1 race is not about having a great track.
That is at the bottom of the list.

The supportor base is too strong for NASCAR in the good ol' US of A, so to actually get a crowd to a F1GP that makes a profit for the event is near nigh impossible.

Look at how many GPs USA (and the rest of the North American continent) has hosted, and how many have survived!

Road America is one of the best circuits in the USA in terms of track layout. The problem with infrastructure could be easily solved if there is enough wil.. The main problem however is not the circuit itself, but Ecclestone. The old man does not want races in America u see, because the old man is interested in filling his pockets with dollars, & since americans do not go out in great numbers to a F1 race(like europeans do), the income is not high enough for a greedy little gnome like Ecclestone, so that is why Indy got removed for the calendar. Guess what ? even canada lost the race for 2009. And why ? You've guessed it ! Financial reasons. it did not make enough income for mr. Ecclestone & got removed. Plain & simple.
