Maybe Schumacher on The GP of Europe in 1997. He was leading the championship fy one point; however, he tried to mess up with Jacques Villenueve. He got out of the race and got disqualified from the championship.

Back in the day when only the top 6 were paid points. (10-6-4-3-2-1)
Hakkinen won Japan to go to 76, Irvine finished 3rd and ended up on 74.

l think Michael Schumacher actually conceded the title to Alonso ahead of the last race in 2006 with whom he was tied. From memory Michael started about last and got very close to getting a podium, but Alonso won the race and the championship.
