Only way that will happen is if they wreck Jimmie Johnson or Jimmie has engine problems. Also do not forget about a blown tire taking either one out of contention. Carl and his team are still good enough to be a threat. Bob Osborne is doing a heck of a job. He will need to light a fire under Carl is pit crew if they are going to compete with Johnson. They will need every advantage they can get. There is no time for the pit road mistakes they have been making lately.

He is my favorite driver and if anyone could possibly do it he could but unless Jimmie Johnson has poor finishes which is doubtful (look at yesterday) l do not think Johnson can be beaten.

At this point, the only way JJ is going to lose this thing is to NOT show up..........Carl needs to sneak into the 48 camp and mess up BOTH of his ignitions....LOL

It is still mathematically possible.If Jimmie has trouble for two of the three weeks,then yes.
Here r two scenarios that may help u out a little:
1)If Carl Edwards wins Texas next week & leads the most laps with Jimmie finishing 2nd & leading none,Jimmie could clinch the championship at Phoenix by finishing at least one spot ahead of Carl & leading one lap or (like l believe will happen)by winning the race,period.
Before Texas:
99(-183)
After Texas
99(-158)
After Phoenix:
99(-164)---The most u can make up in one race is 161 pts.
2)If Jimmie wins at Texas with carl leading the most laps & finishing second,Jimmie could clinch the championship at Phoenix with a 3rd place finish without leading a lap or better even if Carl wins & leads the most laps.
Before Texas:
99(-183)
After Texas:
99(-193)
After Phoenix:
99(-168)
Of course,these r only scenarios,but r actually highly likely.
BTW,here is the best-case scenario for Carl:
If Carl Edwards wins the rest of the races & leads the most laps,Jimmie could still win the championship by finishing 10th or better at all three & gain 5 bonus points at one race to win it by at least 5 pts.

well unless JJ has 2 real bad races where he finishes 40th or worse also not finishing in the top 35 in another and Edwards wins all 3 and leads the most laps at each race .. he has very little chance to catch him

l still have faith that he can pull it off.....there is still 3 races left....look at what can be & has been lost & gained in just 1 race. JJ is not immuned to bad luck & it could strike him during any of the next 3 races...
So, yes l do believe that Carl can win the championship....it is not over yet...

Nope it is Over l am pretty sure of it! Like the only way for it to happen is for Carl to win the last three races, lead the most laps, and for Jimmie Johnson to have some bad luck but more than like that ai not gonna happen! l thought he might have a bad day yesterday but he was talented enough to drive to a second place finish!

It will be very hard because he would have to make up 61 points each race and stay ahead of Johnson in wins. Johnson was very lucky to finish where he did in Talladega and Atlanta, and that has kept Carl from making up ground. l hope he wins, but l would not bet on it because Johnson is both lucky and good.
