Briatore stated what l feel will happen. One engine supplier would cause a huge rift and is not viable. Toyota, BMW, Mercedes et al would emigrate to another series and leave Formula Ferrari to the chest banging Tifosi.

l think that F1 will ultimately survive. F1 is a hugely competititive sport and most teams are rock hard enough to plough through if they choose.

Toyota can spend billions of dollars in F1 but they still wo not beat Ferarri or McLaren. At least in sportscar racing they could run up front & win races. l think all they really need to do is dust off a few old Gurney Eagle GTP cars & update them a little. Maybe they will also enter the American LeMans Series as well. In case Mosley applies his sick plans regarding engines, l really hope that every manufacturer pulls out of the sport. It is ridiculous that every team would have the same engine specs if Mosley applies his retarded rules. What is the point of that ? Does that loon really think that it would make F1 more exciting ? He does not understand that top team will always be having a LOT of money, & if they can not spend money on engine development, they will spend it on other areas like aerodynamics. If this would be the case aerodynamics will make the difference between top & small teams.

So once again, l totally agree with Toyota is intention to withdraw if the above scenario with engine specs happens.

They would get a lot more bang for their in sports, touring car racing or WRC. Look at what the Skyline is Group N victories have done for the image of Nissan. Look at what the little bit of money they have spent has done for Subaru in WRC. Look at how popular DTM is in Germany. In F1 only works teams have a real chance, on other circuits customer cars can also bring glory to the brand.

Obviously anyone who wants to sell cars wants to be represented in the North America market. Therefore ALMS is going to be attractive. There is always going to be a stronger correlation between win on Sunday, sell on Monday with what more closely resemble street cars. F1 is just pricing itself out of business these days.

The fact is sports car racing does not have the following that F1 does, but Toyota can afford to well advertise why winning in sports cars mattters. They can win at Le Mans & Sebring & then tell the whole world about it for less money than losing at F1.

No, they will continue in the sport until at least 2012 as they are committed to winning in Formula 1. They are interested in other motorsport opportunities like Le Mans, but have not made a decision yet.

IF the FIA uses a single engine manufacturer, you will see a widespread bailout of F1 by Ferrari, BMW, Honda, Toyota, Renault, and MB.

F1 had taken the place of the Championship of Makes, which used to be the glory of LeMans.

If Mosely gets his way, you will either see a breakaway series of F1 manufacturers, or a huge resurgence of sports prototypes.

How can you force BMW to use a Mercedes engine or Toyota to use a Honda engine? The engine is the soul of the car.

The time has come to get rid of F1 in its present format,ruined by the silly old fogies in the FIA.The real idea of Racing is to pass the cheqered flag first,not to be stifled by the crazy rules in todays F1.As ordinary road users we all benefit from the terrific technical advances by manufactures.Let them race with any known device available incl turbo charges,Traction and engine size.Bring it on guys we are waiting.
