If carl edwards has bad luck next week and jimmie johnson doesn't is the chase over

Well,Greg Biffle is only three points behind Carl,so he would still be in the picture,but it would definitely be over for Carl.The chances of Johnson losing this championship are almost impossible without trouble.If Carl and Greg both have bad days and Jimmie has a good one,then yes it is over.

The rest of the competition is 180 something points back of Jimmie. It will take an upset to overtake Jimmie in the standings. Do not read those articles made for Carl Edwards fans feel happier. Let Johnson hold on like the Phillies.

The season is not technically over but Jimmie Johnson will have a fat point lead. Sure Carl Edwards is confident but he can win all he wants & be confident all he wants, as long as Jimmie Johnson continues what he is doing he will win the championship. Carl Edwards really can not stop Johnson from or finishing races. The season is not over because not all of the races have been completed but the Championship Chase will be over, though. NASCAR wo not give Jimmie Johnson the trophy til Homestead though. As for Edwards, l think he needs to focus on one series THE SPRINT CUP SERIES for starters & devote time to the series he belongs to, & retire from the Nationwide Series.

l personally think jimmie has the title locked up l do not think they will make a mistake l mean they showed it this week they did make a mistake and they came back and finished 2nd

If Jimmie has bad luck l do not think it will be bad enough that Chad can not get him back out there & still pull a top 35 finish. Let is say that does happen ''hypothetically'' . That would leave Jeff Burton & Greg Biffle to do it. l do not think either one is consistent enough to make up the points difference. That is just my opinion. Jeff Burton has been driving his butt off but l do not see him being able to make up that distance.

Harvick is 4th in points (about 300 back) & from there on back l do not see that happening unless they kidnap Jimmie Johnson for 3 races.

This title was won for Jimmie after Talladega. He was the only one of the serioust tilte contenders to not wreck. Plus he got the buffer he needed the following week when Edwards had problems with the ignition box at Charlotte. The race is now for 2nd in points and l think Edwards pretty much will lock that up. Time to look to 2009 and see what it offers.
