Since when is NASCAR saying ''no'' to Toyota?l know I am missing something obvious (like l usually do - lol).Please enlighten me, learned members of the NASCAR Nation.


This is not intended as a slam against Toyota.l just do not remember NASCAR ever telling a team/owner that they could or could not switch manufacturers.

l was wondering the same thing. l thought it was up to the team owners which mfg they go with. They are stoooopid if the are really doing this. Toyota has brought them a lot of attention this year with Mr. Busch and all his wins!

Supposedly NASCAR has told Toyota to stop buying into teams. It sounds to me like NASCAR may have figured out that Toyota is slowly taking over the sport. Maybe Brian France feels like his job could be in jeopardy if he loses his sport because all of the fans leave because of Toyota. Look at the stands at Atlanta. They only filled about 65% of the seats. You think maybe Brian France may be feeling the heat?

Also there was a lawsuit against BDR about sharing confidential Dodge information with Toyota. Maybe NASCAR feels the need to step in & monitor it.

NASCAR can use the economy as an excuse for the decline in attendance all they want but there were people dissatisfied with the way the sport has changed way longer than just the recent fall in the economy.

Glad l was not the only one a bit confused on all of that.
l thought the owners had final say as well.

l am not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to such things, l just sit back and enjoy.

l think it stinks. Nascar has no business telling owners what they can and can not do with their own race team. Does not make any sense.

Interesting question, makes one wonder what Nascar will do if GM, Ford and Chrysler merge like there is talk of due to our economy these days. l am like you and some others, never knew Nascar could tell owners what manufacturer they could use.
