Awe PJ 88.You touched me.l remember Junior trying to get there to that horrible day.That was rough.

My parents gave me Bobby LaBonte to root for, because they were tired of me switching drivers ( l was 6, l followed the driver who is sponosor l recognized). So l stuck with Bobby ever since.

As for Jamie McMurray, l chose him because l thought he was cute, and he won in the Cup in only his second time racing in that series, so l was like he has a lot of potential.

After l quit watching NASCAR in 2001(after Dale passed on), l missed the sport & decided to go with my favorite rookie in 2002.Jimmie Johnson won the pole for his very first Daytona 500 & ran well for a month or so before l finally said ''hey,that is my new fav''.He ended up winning three races that year & finishing 5th in the standings & was also(and still is)the only rookie in NASCAR history to ever lead the points standings.

2 championships,39 wins(including two Brickyard 400's,2 All-Star races,a Daytona 500,and 3 Coca-Cola 600 is in a row) later,it seems like l picked a good one.

In 2002 Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman were up for Rookie of the Year. l had just started watching NASCAR, and both of them impressed me. l did not know which one l liked better. When Newman got it, l just kinda went with Johnson. He had such an impressive year with three wins and 5th place finish in the points as a rookie. l knew he was bound for great things.

It was time.
My driver died in 2001. Everyone had a driver to pull for but me.
My mother-in-law talked me into picking a young driver, so l could watch their career in it is entirety.
We were watching a race at Pocono(on TV). Kyle started in the back of the pack & finished 4th, they interviewed him. l can not remember exactly what he said, but my in-laws said he is always so smug about everything. l was actually joking when l said ''That is my driver''
To which they replied ''Do not u dare''
Oh yeah..rebellion kicked in, it was official. That is how Kyle chose me to be his fan. l have a soft spot for the ''bad boys''

l had always liked Kurt back when he drove for Jack Roush. l was a die hard #2 Rusty Wallace fan when he drove and when Kurt took over the #2 ride it fit like a glove. So after Rusty gave it up l went with the #2 replacement Kurt Busch. Besides that l had too much #2 Miller gear to start over. J/K!! Kurt is my man now and will be. Knock him all you want to guys he is still a former champ and that is more than alot can say. Go Kurt Busch!

l first picked Reed just out of spite because he had just replaced my best friends driver in the 41 car. So l thought if l am gonna ''pretend'' to like this guy just to make her mad l better find out more about him. And well the more l found out about him and back track his career the more l thought wow he is a pretty great race car driver and well the rest is history, l never looked back. l plan on being a loyal fan right to the end.

l was kinda looking for a driver to pull for around the late 90 is l was a Bobby Labonte fan. Then around 2003, Jr signed a local Busch East driver (Martin Truex Jr), that l payed attention to, and that was it. Plus he did some great ads and stuff and came across as a cool guy. My #2 driver (Truex) is a little easier, from the same area, same high school, and I'd actually been to the Truex shop years ago.

(HS) I've just always liked Jr l liked the way he handled himself and the way he was so eager to learn it all when he first started l just have always liked everything about him! There is alot more l like but if l listed all the things then we'd be here all night LOL!

l was a Senior fan for quite a few years. l would see him with Junior and see the pride in his face when Junior would win a race or when they would be racing each other. Then when Senior was killed and l sat here watching Junior running towards his Dad is car that did it.
RIP Senior.
To me, Junior has come into his own.

My all time favorite was Cale Yarborough. l liked him because he was a guest star on The Dukes of Hazzard when l was a kid. l followed his career ever since. When he retired, l went from driver to driver until along came Kevin Harvick. l was a Harvick fan in the Busch Series, & when he came to Winston Cup after the tragic death of Dale Sr, Kevin started driving the 29 car. The 29 car was coincidentally the last number Cale drove before he retired. It seemed like destiny to be a Harvick fan.

My dad was always huge fan. The drivers l like are Dale Earnheart Jr. and Mark Marten. The reason why is because I've met the Earnheart family before Then Mark... I've just always liked him.

Always drove a FORD Pick em' up Truck....So, it was only natural when l got into watchin' the sport. l liked Fords & who better to root for than Mark Martin in the Roush Camp. So, erya go!! Still like Mark even though he left. But, l still stayed w/Roush and Matt Kennseth

For 2 years Jeremy was my 2nd favorite just because he seemed like a great guy & had a great personality. Then he won Pocono in 98 & l cried that day it was his first win & he became my favorite driver that very moment he crossed the finish line. I've met him 3 times & he really is a great guy & has a great personality. The rest is history. My driver WILL get a ride in 09 l know in my heart that he will.

My 2nd favorite driver is Brian Vickers. l became a Brian Vickers fan late 04/early 05 for many reasons:
1. a few friends got me liking him
2. he is hot
3. not out of pity per say but l felt bad for him after he lost his best friend on his 21st bday

Independent team. Owner driver. Robby Gordon. Do you know how much dedication that takes to be your own owner driver? How much money he looses and he still races just because he loves it. He has very little money for testing, cars and sometimes has issues with sponsors and crew chiefs, but he still goes on because he loves to drives and wont answer to anyone except himself. That is why l like Robby Gordon and RGMS.

Honestly, it was Jeff (Gordon) winning that 1st NASCAR race l saw that made me say this is the guy l will stick with. Been through the tough times & plan on it as long as l am a NASCAR fan/or until he retires.

l was invited to a NASCAR race in 1993 & l was a smoker of Camels. SO l picked Jimmy Spencer who drove for Camel. He was my guy. Then Spencer changed sponsors & l decided not to watch anymore so l lost touch with the NASCAR scene for a couple years.
One day l was watching on TV as l had nothing better to do & l saw this guy who was driving his heart out & climbed up from the back of the pack. It was Kevin Harvick. He was my first choice.
Now l like & have met Matt Kenseth who races for DeWalt & RLC. My company uses RLC primarily & l went to a race at Dover & got to meet him. Awesome down to earth guy who knows how to drive those cars. He just has some bad luck occasionally & teammates (Edwards & Biffle) who should have pushed him win at Dover. But l am sure they worked it out among themselves.

l chose Bill Elliott because he was my dad is favorite driver and l think l made a pretty good choice.

l chose Mark Martin because he commands so much respect. He is a hard worker, he races clean, and he is humble. There is something about him that almost makes him an underdog, and l love to pull for the underdog.

The other guy l chose is Elliott Sadler, and if l am honest, most of it was because of his looks, his charming personality, and the fact that he is a VA boy.
