The NBA,NHL,MLB and NFL have one,even MLS has a commissioner. Why not NASCAR?

NASCAR has all they need with Brian France and Mike Helton.

The sports league teams are franchises so they need an elected commissioner to decide disputes among franchises.

Nascar is a private business and it makes it is own decisions.

Look how screwed up the other sports are with their ''commissioners''..they are no better off

Interesting question. Apparently, NASCAR did have a commissioner once upon a time:

Maybe he would not ''play ball'' with them? lol

No.Because NASCAR is a motorsport.
(Batman had a commissioner. His name was Commissioner ''Gordon'')

Jeff Gordon has his own commissioner named Commissioner ''Johnson''.

NASCAR has more than one. First there r the series directors. For the Sprint Cup Series that is John Darby. He is in charge of running the series & oversees all the officials. He has the power to issue penalties to teams for various rule infractions. Then there is President Mike Helton who oversees Darby & the other series directors, as well the other areas of the sport such as R&D, marketing, etc. Then there is the National Stock Car Racing Commission, chaired by Charles Strang. The NSCRC hears & rules on any appeals made by teams who have been penalized by NASCAR.
