Anybody know where l can find a race track in Toronto that is open to the public? l do not wanna become a professional racer or anything, l simply wanna have a bit of fun in my car on a racing track. l found some information but l can not make much sense of it, help would be greatly appreciated. By the way, l do not wanna race anyone, l would prefer it if it was just me and the track..

Race tracks r not simply ''open'' to the public. They r normally owned privately. Most tracks though r regularly rented by clubs & have driver ed/open track events for their members. If u want a track all to yourself, it is possible, but do not expect it to be free. depending on the track, one day rental of the facilities & the required safety workers will run ~$2500-5000 (US Dollars), & still require u to provide all related insurance.

The more normal route for someone in ur position would be to look into one of the previously mentioned driver ed/open track events. Cost will normally be in the $150-300 range for a day, & most clubs will provide instruction for novice drivers (which u will need if u actually want to begin to learn what driving on a track is all about). Your car will have to be in basically good shape, & u will need a helmet.

l believe Mosport & Shannonvill r probaby the closest tracks to Toronto, The Trackpedia entry for Mosport shows the following clubs on the calendar for future events: Porsche Club, BMW Club, Audi Club, Lotus Club, & Asphault Ventures. Any of the above should give u some possible starting points.
