im not so sure regan faked him and stewert came back to his spot then smith went down the line and passed stewert to the line
yes nascar should keep the rule for all the laps or none of them
thank you stinky
i APOLOGIZE IF LAST YEAR IN THE TRUCK RACE THEY ALLOWED TODD BODINE TO PASS UNDER THE YELLOW LINE THEN THEY SHOULD GIVE THE WIN TO REGAN SMITH

Well why should it be with the last lap. ANd not the other laps. They should get rid of it altogether.

l dont know what the rule is for the last lap, l actually think that it was Tony that won. Because of the rule that you arent allowed to pass under the yellow line. Tony let him back up onto the track and Regan should have gone behind Tony, but he didnt.

You're right, Mr. President. Smith won that race. l am so disgusted l can not see straight. Do not get me wrong - l like Smoke. But NASCAR needs to stop using their Etch-A-Sketch for a rule book. : (

That is the benefits of a #2 pencil. They can change the rules anytime they want to. But l had never heard the rule before. It just seems like every day it is a new rule the just pops up out of nowhere.
Congrats Tony Stewart fans
Ragan won it though. Stewart was blocking and forced Ragan down below the line. The replay shows Ragan had his front fender beside Tony Stewart is rear quarter panel.

l am a ''smoke'' fan but trust me that was a weird one. l think DJ summed it up but l was busy celebrating. As usual a rule that people never had an issue with is now a farce for those who is driver did not win or do not like Tony. Yay!

That is the first time l remember someone crossing the finish line 1st place only for the win to be given to 2nd right after the race. l am wondering if Smith was leading, and Stewart went to the inside, if NASCAR would have gave Smith the win.
l would have been happy to see either win, but it should be given to whoever crosses the finish line in the lead.

That was a load of ******* BS. During the truck race yesterday the announcers clearly stated that you are allowed to go below the yellow line on the last lap or if you are forced down there. Smith had both of those. But once again Nascar screws another driver out of a victory.. Good job to Regan, he gave it everything he had.

never legal.time and time again we've seen someone having to give spots up because they passed beneath the yellow line. Why should this be any different???
Yeah l was routing for Tony..but if it were the other way around l would have felt the same way.
Still.this has to be a big shot in the arm for DEI.

Regan got forced down below and made the pass, you're not the only one who thought that was legal. They said NASCAR has not placed Regan. Hopefully they will decide he is the winner. They better, because he won that race.

You can go below the line, even if forced down there, but you CANNOT IMPROVE YOUR POSITION.
That has always been the rule, last lap or not.
But hey, he gave it a shot and it made for a heck of a finish.

Although l was surprised they gave the win to Stewart, what Tom P says is correct, l believe. You are allowed below the yellow line, but not to improve your position.

Congrats Regan!!!!

It is legal to go below the yellow line if forced down. It is not legal to gain position from it. Controversial finish, to say the least.

Yes, Regan Smith won the race! Damn it NASCAR, why do you always have to ruin the finishes. Regan got forced below the line and won. Plain and simple. The idiots who make up these rules might as well shoot themselves. Let the men race.
l hope they declare Smith the winner.

l thought that it was never legal to improve your position when below the yellow line so l thought it was a fair call l know l am the minority in this but that is what l thought

l picked Smoke to win in my fantasy pool, But l think Nascar needs to review this, Smoke forced Smith down there. l am still having a Carl Edwards meltdown here, l am ready to hire the AFLAC duck to go chew something off Carl Edwards for the mess he caused today.. l agree, Regan Smith should have won, but l think this needs to be reviewed unless JGR paid the officials off.

Regan Smith soooooooo won that race and yes the rule is on the last lap you get forced below the yellow line and advance your position you get to keep that position. But hey this is a NASCAR rule and we all know that it depends on the day, month, what the weather is doing as to what drivers the rule applies to. NASCAR you messed up bad today, very disappointed.

Rules are Rules. Just like it was OK and then some for Jr to pass the Pace Car for his win Michigan.
If Tony thought Regan was still a threat after he went under the yellow line, he would not have let him get ahead of him. Of that, l am sure.
Any other driver and this would not even be an issue.
l just wish he would have won it in his Home Depot 20

Agreed. To me it also looked like Smith just barely got back on track before passing Stewart so NASCAR is point was moot. Congrats to Regan Smith on his first career win even if it is not in the record books.

Usually, u could go under the yellow line, but could not pass unless u were forced down there. Also, the yellow line would be disregarded on the last lap in turn 4 & the tri-oval.
But this race, they said that u could not put the full width of a tire under the line. They also said that if u were forced down there, u had to fill a gap, even if it was behind you. If there was not one, u had to maintain ur position.
But what Regan did that was illegal, from my point of view, was to really use up the apron. If he had been right next to Stewart, he had a point, but he left a good gap of 2 or 3 feet. So NASCAR can say that he was forced down, but willfully used the apron to pass.

regan won. l thought they said in the drivers meeting that anyone that forced someone below the yellow line was available to be black flagged for aggresive driving. l thought l saw it on speed but l could be wrong.
