The answer NASCAR is going to give, is he was in the act of passing. l do not remember what year it was, but Brendan Gaughan was leading the points, it was the final race, & a restart. One of the trucks spun the tires & he took a left to avoid them, did not pass, but was beside the other truck when the crossed the start/finish line & nascar black flagged him because he was in the act of passing to the left on a restart. So they will probably say he was in the act of passing.
Also I've never accused Nascar of favoritism before, but l am starting to wonder. Not favoritism for Tony himself but the top 12 drivers in points.

Either way, he was forced down there. He was under the yellow for the pass but had no choice.

The nose of Regan is car was up to Tony is rear tire before Regan crossed the line. Tony continued on trying to block Regan & that was the reason Regan went below the line (he was forced). Under the rules if u r forced then u r allowed to advance below the line. Also under the rules it is suppose to be a penalty for forcing another driver below the line. Where the question comes in at is was it an intentional force or was Tony just blocking? Looks like Tony was just blocking. Well with that said NASCAR has warned them in the past about blocking.. So NASCAR should let Regan have it based on the fact that Regan was forced below the line because of Tony is blocking.

IT Nascar who does not know what they are doing here, or they are just protecting the big name drivers who they say bring in the $$$$$$ for Nascar.And yes Reagan did not complete the pass until he was above the yellow line. Congrats to Reagan Smith you Won the race.

Regan did what he was supposed to do NASCAR blew the call they favor the champions in NASCAR more than rookies. l would get rid of the idiots heads and replace them with people that will make the right calls.

In my opinion, The race winner should have been Paul Menard. Here is why, The rulebook states u cant go below the yellow line to advance ur position. Regan Smith went below the yellow line, clearly, & advanced his position in doing so. On the other hand, the rulebook also states that u cant force a car below the yellow line in order for that car not to pass you. Tony Stewart clearly forced Smith below the yellow line, so therefore Tony Stewart should have been credited with a 18th place finish since he violated that rule. Why 18th? For one, he was second to the line, & two, since he forced Regan Smith below the yellow line, he violated the rule first. Regan Smith should have been credited with a 17th place finish since he was first to the line, but also violated the rule. So therefore if NASCAR really made a GREAT call like alot of people say, they really need to see that Tony Stewart forced Regan Smith below the yellow line. l mean if Stewart didnt force him, why would Smith go down there anyways? Below the yellow line was Smith is only option. Paul Menard should have been declared the winner. Not Stewart!
