l think tony should have came in 2nd and regan should have won. tony probably cried and moaned and payednascar to let him win. what do you think? l was pretty mad

You are an idoit, tony is the clear winner. Smith made a rookie mistake, and paid the price for it

tony was the first one to ever be penalized for the pass below the yellow, so he knew the rule. now regan knows it too.

Tony did exactly what he should have done. Smith should have tried passing on the upper groove. He instead tried to go under Tony, He was blocked. Any veteran driver would have done the same thing. l am thrilled that Tony won. l hope he wins next week also.

Just CASHCAR giving Toyota (their pet project) another win to reward the 10 is of million they dumped into the sport.

If they are not going to call forcing you below the line, then you just have to wreck that guy when he tries to push you down. Smith could have easily turned Stewart and crashed half the field for the win.

regan smith should have, could have, and would have won. But he didn't. And that is a damn shame, because Tony forced him below the line and regan outraced him to the finish. But NASCAR has a ton of elderly men who do not know what they are talking about. Look at Jim Hunter, you can tell in that interview he did not know what the hell to say.

It was a B.S call on NASCAR, but lets move on now.

l was listening to Jimmie Johnson is radio communication earlier, & he said that there was a rumor around before the race(or something like that) that if its the last lap, it is anything goes, like they said after that truck race, & Knaus even said that Stewart forced Regan down below the yellow line. l bet u they're not the only team that thought that, either. It is interesting, the only place I've seen people say Stewart fairly won is here, & that was after a top contributer said he thought Stewart won it.

l like Tony so l am not mad he won. Regan Smith got a taste of what it is like to go for the win and l am sure he will make it to Victory Lane in the future.

It looked to me like Tony pushed Regan under the line.

l bet tony feels like a weasel today
Tony in his Toyota
what a fluke

if you watch the footage, it was obvious that Smith had 2 choices, either wreck Stewart, or do what he did because he had a fender inside him on the last lap. l think that he has every right to be mad.
krystal     Reply with quote
l think they both should've been busted for it; the rule is 'no passing inside the line'. Okay fine, others have done it & got busted. But l understood that the next rule is 'no intentionally forcing someone inside the line', which Stewart, by his own admission, did to Smith. So, why did not Stewart get some sort of penalty? Looks to me like a case of ''Shut up & take ur lumps, Rookie''. Why should they even try, if NASCAR is going to favor their 'superstars'. The win (IMO) should've gone to Menard-but he is not a 'superstar' either.

l think NASCAR is ruling was consistant with ruling is they've made in the past in similar circumstances no matter who the drivers have been. However, given some of NASCAR is ''inconsistant'' rulings in the past 3 or 4 years, l was not sure which way they'd make the call on this one.

l think the talk of passing under the yellow line on the last lap probably crowded the technical parts of the ruling. Unfortunately, when u leave a technical ruling to a human being, there r always going to be controversies. In this case, it was debatable whether Tony did or did not force Smith below the line. In truth, this time, if it had been my choice l honestly do not know which choice I'd have made had l been the official. l watched that replay over & over. To me, it was a pretty gray area for someone to have to call.

The reason l think it is a consistant outcome is that when there is doubt the conservative answer is typically chosen by NASCAR. And having Tony win was the conservative answer.

It was a really good finish to watch & enough reason to keep fans up in arms & discussing this until next Saturday night.

l think they both should have been black flagged because both went below the line. Tony also forced Regan below the line.
aeroz     Reply with quote
l think either Regan should have won or NASCAR should have black-flagged BOTH of them and made BOTH of them go to the rear of the field and Paul Menard would have won.If a rule is a rule like some people keep saying, then the rule also states that if you force someone down there, then you are black-flagged as well.

Forcing -- when SIDE BY SIDE forcing is possible, NOT when bumper to bumper as they were entering the turn.

The rule is plain, & clearly spelled out. Regan violated it.
l note that the rule calls for BLACK FLAG on violation. Regan got off easy, had he been black flagged he WOULD NOT HAVE FINISHED AT ALL or at best been relegated to LAST place, not just last on that lap!

Note: When the rule was first introduced Tony Stewart was the FIRST one called for the violation. He received EXACTLY the same treatment.

l think YOU need to read the rules so u will have an idea what is & is NOT allowed!! THIS AIN'T STREET RACING.

To everyone who answered the question above, & halfway thought the call was right, ARE YOU F****** BLIND!!! Reagan was clearly blocked to the right before going left, & his only option (other than tearing up fifteen more cars), was to go down below the stupid yellow line. It is a bull**** call from a bull**** racing organization. Let them race in the damn grass if they want to. And people wonder why fenders, & F Joke 1 r becoming so unpopular. Look up every once in a while, & u will figure out which direction the lightning comes from!
ionus     Reply with quote
you petty little gnat. there was no time for him to be able to do that. so go cry a river to someone else. you cant go below the yellow line to gain a position. he was not forced maybe you should have some laser corrective surgery for your eyes. again he was not forced nascar does not allow anyone to drive with a gun as far as l know.
Bad     Reply with quote
Smith should have just wrecked Tony seems like nascar does not want anybody racing just driving around in circles playing follow the leader = boring.
Maxim     Reply with quote
Look at it from Tony is point he has lost many races to being blocked and he did the same thing. The only reason Chad and Jimmie are belly aching is because that put even more chase contenders in the mix. My husband is a Nationwide official and knows the rule book, Regan violated a rule. He wo not make that mistake again. NASCAR is NASCAR and they have decisions to make on a daily basis, everyone else just needs to suck it up and deal with it.

Smith should have did what Tony would have done. Wreck him.
just another example of NASCAR being inconsistent with their rules.
Smith won the race.
