l think Shiplett needs to grow up and stop pointing fingers.Patrick loves this sport and is a good driver who has came a long way in a short period of time. l hope Patrick finds somewhere to go next year in NASCAR;he is more deserving than some of the guys out there cruising around,taking up space every week. l know he can do better than GEM.

l think GEM made a mistake.

Carpentier qualified a couple times on the pole.

l think Evernham should have given him another year. It wasnt his fault that Shiplett flipped out on him.

l thought they were making a poor choice of letting him leave at the end of this season, and it is really screwy to let him go now. Shiplett had NO right to say that stuff. Maybe he should go out there and try to qualify the stupid thing; see if he does any better than Patrick!

GEM made a mistake, for sure.

Eventually he was going to be cut from the team. Personally l think it was a bad move by GEM to hire him in the first place. l think that they should have chosen a driver that has more experience with the cup series. The road course drivers have been nothing but problems since they got into the series. l think that if maybe they gave Carpentier more time to develop with the cup cars then he may have been more successful in the series.

l feel bad for Carpentier but atleast Almindinger has a ride!

it sucks for carpentier. he is a real character and l believe earned his spot with his performances throughout the year. l hope that his disagreement with shiplett does not lead other teams to believe he is a problem - remember jeremy mayfield? it was jeremy mayfield that got the bad reputation for being ''difficult'' was not it?

it does give allmendinger a place to ride for the rest of the season and showcase what he can do in hopes of finding a ride for next year.

To me it was bad enough that they put him on brink of having to leave but then now because of a single missed race at Talladega (a race which is nortoriously known for ''having what you got'') in terms of driver ability to improve the car he is out.
l think GEM releasing Patrick & TRB releasing AJ were the 2 dumbest moves of the 2009 Silly Season.

l like Patrick. l think he brought some new blood and a fresh face to NASCAR. GEM does not know whether to scratch their watch or wind their butts right now. l would keep Carpentier instead of hiring Sorenson. Sorenson has proven nothing over the years.

l feel bad for Carpentier, but sounds more like they need to look at their management. If management can not get along with people & is pointing fingers it can not be a very nice place to work. Patrick has really done a great job of qualifying despite his inexperience in stock cars & of all the open wheel guys, l think he is 2nd best (behind Juan Problem) so not a good move on GEM is part IMHO.

l hope he gets a ride. It is been fun to watch him perform in the go-or-go-home group on qualifying day.

l think he was over his head in the begining and that chip needs to stop hiring so many foreign drivers to drive in an american sport. None of them are panning out CHIP. Sterling Marlin was your best shot and you fired him. You are a moron
