i think it is good, nascar brings in a lot of money, also nascar does help the economy, by buying fuel, plane tickets, r.v.'s, and just alot of other things, like motels, ect......

i am glade our government recognizes NASCAR and it is importance!

Darlin', 23 million is a drop in the bucket to NASCAR. They could probably afford to loan the government most of that 700 billion.

EDIT: l do not know much about politics, and l do not want to. lol But I've gathered that NASCAR, among others, got some of the money to make the bailout bill more agreeable. You know, so it would get more votes. Now my little head hurts. ; )

The auto racing industry is getting 128 million dollars. To help with re-vamping of racing tracks. That is part of the 'pork' offered via the Federal 700 billion bailout.

What do l think? l think that Nascar is the best sport in America, so if a sport gets 'pork' form the Feds (which is actually my tax dollars) that is what l would want it to go to.

but what this bailout is helping is all the ceo is who caused this in the first place
i mean these peopel was making millions a year and giving them selves big bonus each year in the multi millions
and then in turn sending our jobs over seas ..for cheaper labour

NASCAR puts a ton of money into local economy. If anyone looked at the stands at Dega u would understand. There must have been 20,000 empty seats. This will help the local economy by reducing a lot of consumer driven economics on a local scale. l think it is fantastic. Maybe my room at Homestead will only cost me $200 a night instead of $275.

Sheesh. No one seems to understand this. Why? It is not like it is going into Frances bank account. The point of the bailout is to defer costs for the consumer. It is like going to the gas station to buy gas knowing that 50 cents on every gallon will be paid for by the government. The only problem is it may have an effect to our country in the long term. It is a good thing for us(the consumer) for now.

l think they should give the fans the 23 million so we can afford to go to the race.
If they were all so hurting, then they could start driving around the country insted of flying in their private jets.

l do not understand why NASCAR is getting money? There swimming in millions of dollars. It should've gone to the stock market.

l did not know that ! It is truly shocking, seeing as how it is a monopoly and privately owned by the France family. No wonder our country is in the crapper.

Funny how everyone missed the point including the asker. NASCAR is NOT getting any money directly. What they are getting is tax cuts for there infrastructure.

The bailout is stupid. And it should not be helping anyone except the banks, who should not get crap anyways. Nascar, along with the race tracks themselves, can afford it.
