NA$CAR has not made its rule book public and seems change them (rules)as they see fit.If you do not have a consistent policy for drug testing, they could be open to serious legal and other actions.

l do not see why it would not be made public. All the other sports do it and it is quite a deterent........

If they enforce the drug testing policy like they do any of their rules then it will be private & they will use it as an excuse to get rid of drivers they no longer want in NASCAR. Suspensions & appeals is where that is going to waste drivers times. Besides, marijuana is the only drug that stays in ur system about 28 days & the rest leaves ur body in about 3 days so drivers can do drugs early in the week & still pass a drug test later in the week. Drivers that do drugs very seldom will not even show up on the test.

What u seem to forget is that NASCAR is a privately owned entity. They do not have to make anything public.

NFL, NHL, MLB, get $$$ from the public funds. IE: tax breaks for building new stadiums, etc. They also have stocks that can be bought & sold. So they HAVE to open their books up for potential investors.

And l do not see where it could pose serious legal & other actions. If u do not like the way things r done, go race in another series. They do have a monopoly on racing in the US. So, until someone starts a competing series, we just have to put up with it.

If the rulebook WERE to be made public - Dale Jr. would have to abide to the same rules as every other driver & team......NASCRAp nation LOVES it when he wins.

A few weeks back, NASCAR announced that starting in Feb, the drivers will have to submit to drug screenings, Once at Daytona, and random testing threw out the yr. It includes drivers, pit crews, Crew chiefs, and l want to say owners as well.

The testing will be done from an outside source. Speed Channel did a cover story on it.
