Bathurst 1000 is on at the moment l LOVE it!

I've seen a bit of nascar and think its like watching a can of sardines in a washing machines cause all the do is go around and around in a circle.can they even turn right?

l am not bashing nascar.l am looking for an answer y someone who legitimately loves or watches both sports and can tell me through an intellegent answer why one or the other is a better sport.
l will correct myself.. l do not care for the better sport.. just the one that is more interesting to watch for long periods of time..

NASCAR use to be but now all the strict rules and boring tracks and boring car of tomorrow. V8 Supercars is prob twice as exciting .

Nascar requires knowledge on the spectators part to understand what all is going on during a race. Uninformed viewers often say it is just cars going in a circles. Nascar does have races on road courses complete with right hand turns.

Why is V-8 Supercar champ (Ambrose) just an also ran in Nascar? Ask him which is the most interesting.

Edit l think that story was written a bit premature as it has not been confirmed he will drive. If he does it just goes to show Nascar stars have no fear or animosity toward Supercars unlike their fans who call Nascar sardines in a can.

Yes, NASCAR cars turn right 4 times a year(twice in the Sprint Cup Series, twice in the Nationwide Series) & twice a year in the Camping World East & West(developmental series 1 each). The problem with V8 Supercar in the US, is it is shown after the season is over because Speed Network would rather show repeats of Unique Whips. l find both series interesting(now if Ford would bring the Falcon over here because it is a hell of lot better looking than the Fusion), got the GM(Holden) Vs. Ford thing we all love. When l can watch it l love V8 Supercar. l mean hell if Dale Earnhardt Jr says it is a series he'd love to run in when he is done with NASCAR(and is actually running a race in December) it is gotta be pretty cool.

V8 supercars are more interesting then Nascars.

1. because they can turn left and right not just left.
2. they take the body work from cars u can buy.
3. there is only 2 makes(no Jap crp) just Ford(blue) and Holden(red)

V8 Supercars r more exciting because its always something different every round of the year. While l do agree that some aspects of NASCAR r exciting, V8 Supercars l think require just that little bit more detail.

Marcos Ambrose moved to Nascar because after winning the V8 Championship & gaining a place in Ford Australian Motorsport history he wanted to go to the next level, try a new experience & also help other Australians break into the NASCAR circuit.

Even NASCAR contender Boris Said who is racing at this years Bathurst 1000 with Paul Morris Motorsport has said that
“This is the biggest challenge I’ve had since my first NASCAR race.”

But for me i'd rather watch the V8 Supercars because l love the attention to detail & technical side of it. And NASCAR l think can get a bit monotonous at times. And just for the record l think that Ford will again rein supreme on the mountain

Nascar, but l sure wish nascar could race at some of the tracks as the V8's. l was so mad when the V8 is stopped racing in the 'Thunderdome' that was one of the best tracks. Man l would love to see some of those nascar boys run some of Australia is tracks.

Since l have never watched V8 Supercars..........

l love me V8 supercars (this will be my first year not up the mountain since 99 cause im stuck in Perth for work) but l love NASCAR too.

Its not just about going in circles, theres alot of tactics involved, high speed, big crashes,lots of danger & large prize money (and a sh#t load of races).

Lots of heritage stemming back to the days when moonshine runners started using their cars to compete in stock car racing.

Also whats boring about large capacity motors sitting on 9500rpm for 200 laps.

Edit - Sorry if that came across sarcastic, l meant it. Its a mecahical feat for large engines with large recioprocating parts (crank,rods,pistons) to rev to 9500 let alone do it for hours at at a time, just like Bathurst 95 when Perkins/Ingall came from last to first, they had holden engine sitting on 7500 all day & won, so that win came down not only to driver skill but Perkins bullet proof enginering, so l guess thats something in every nascar race.

I've been watching the Super V8 is for a couple yrs now, I've Tivo'd the Bathurst 1000 so l can watch it this weekend. I'd love to go to this race sometime, been to the F1 down under, guess l am gonna have to make a trip down under to go see my cousin who lives there & see some of these races, they look super on TV. Get ready for Dale Jr he is gonna be there later this yr & drive in one of the Super V8 races. l love road courses, & l am just addicted to auto racing..
