l mean... l liked Jimmie just fine and l know his stats since been in NASCAR but Jeff is my favorite driver and his stat are real good, too.

l have warmed up to Jeff Gordon so much that l cheer for him and am sorry that he does not have a win. He is a four time champion and has been racing longer than Jimmie.
My vote goes to Jeff.

Give Jimmie as many years racing as Jeff has now and then see where he is.

l think both are equally as good as the other.Jeff is just having a off year.

They r the 2 best active drivers there are, as far as championships & stats go. Jeff used to have a higher winning percentage, overall, but Jimmie just passed him with his win at Kansas City (15.32% to Gordon is 15.06%). Jimmie is by far the better 1 1/2 mile driver & he also has an edge on the flat tracks but Jeff is still better at the road courses, Bristol & probably on the superspeedways. It is pretty close but it is getting harder to deny that Jimmie is one of the all time greatest drivers, even though he does not have as much history in NASCAR. Jimmie is better right now but Jeff has the edge as far as their place on the all time greatest driver list.

it all depends on your definition of better. Over time l think Jimmie will prove to have more wins and championships than jeff, but that does not mean Gordo is not as good as jimmie, we all know that Jeff can flat out DRIVE a racecar. Skills-wise Jeff is better, stats-wise Jimmie will be better it all depends on which better your talking about. All that said l am a die-hard Gordon and Johnson fan.

l would not say he is a ''better driver''.jimmie is stats are almost the same as Gordon is was at this point in his career,but they do not exceed them by any means.Jimmie vs. Jeff since 2002.Jimmie wins it,but Gordon did not have Ray Evernham either. l would like to have seen them both start their careers at the same time(Jimmie and Chad vs. Jeff and Ray) and see how it would have been.

Stats wise, Jeff Gordon is the best active driver as of right now. He has been racing a while now. Jimmie is not too far away from him. But as of right now, Jimmie is def in a better position than Gordon. Too bad, Jimie is my fav but l also like Gordon. l would not sleep on him though, he is very capable of still winning the cup. Hopefully Jimmie will pull another championship this year!

Honestly l think they are about evenly matched. Jeff has taught Jimmie all he knows and Jimmie was taking notes.

l am not saying Jimmie is not a good driver--he is--but l think a lot of his success has to do with his equipment and crew chief. Where would he be without Chad Knaus?

Interesting question for me to answer as l am a huge fan of them both. l think if they were in the exact same car (set up) they would be pretty evenly matched. However, l think l have to give just a little bit of an edge to Gordon. They are both top notch drivers in my book, and oh-yeah, either one of them can live next door to me.
